Normandy, France -September 2, 2014 - The line to meet the number one French Show Jumper and Ambassador, Kevin Staut, stretched from the JustWorld International stand throughout Games Village with adoring fans yearning for the opportunity to meet the French celebrity on Saturday, August 30, 2014. The highlight event was nothing short of a success as Jessica Newman, JustWorld International's founder and Executive Director, along with Staut greeted the crowds and told the story of JustWorld International. The non-profit organization, based in France and the United States, is one of only four official charity partners for the 2014 Alltech™ FEI World Equestrian Games (WEG) 2014 in Normandy. A dream for the organization as they raise awareness and funds to pursue their mission of acting as a catalyst for positive change in the developing world. "It's absolutely amazing for JustWorld to be selected as the charity partner for the WEG, it was always a dream and in our long term strategic plans," Newman explained. "JustWorld is 11 years old now, and our goal was to launch worldwide. We have really focused on launching in North America for the last 10 years, but exactly two years ago we launched in Europe with a huge response and success." Newman continued, "To be right at the end of our two-year period, and to be a part of the WEG while having such huge support is just amazing! We have 20 volunteers here that came for the two weeks to volunteer their time-I can't say enough." Staut has been an active JustWorld Ambassador for the last 8 or 9 years, but his relationship with the outstanding non-profit organization grew exponentially when he packed his suitcase and jetted off with 16 other Ambassadors to the JustWorld project in Phnom Penh, an overpopulated city in Cambodia with thousands settle in precarious housing conditions, facing unemployment and the lack of sufficient resources to provide education and social services. Among the affected is an entire generation of children. For Staut, the trip was personal. "I've known Jessica a long time and I'm really proud to be part of JustWorld International, we have been working together now for 10 years, and at the beginning I did really small things, but in the past two years things have developed progressively," Staut said. "I have an adopted sister from Cambodia, and she's 12 years old. Now I'm really trying to help Jessica as much as I can because I see my sister in these children, the 'what could have been'. I have my competitions, shows and job, but last year I went to Cambodia, and in three weeks I am going to Guatemala. I'm really impressed by what Jessica is doing. She works so hard and gives a lot of herself for their mission." The next highlight of the 2014 WEG is an autograph session with new jumping stars, Alex Zettermann (SWE) and Daniel Bluman (COL), also JustWorld Ambassadors, on Friday, September 5 at 5:00 pm at the JustWorld International booth (D40 in the Games Village). French actress and JustWorld Celebrity Ambassador Marina Hands will also host an autograph session on Sunday, September 7 before the Jumping Final 4 at the D'Ornano Stadium. Honored Ambassadors Hannah Selleck, Games Ambassador and JustWorld Ambassador (photo © Esphoto.comagainst the bottom), daughter of the famous American actor Tom Selleck (seen in Magnum, Friends, Blue Bloods and many other films and TV series), will arrive to the Games Monday, September 1, and will undoubtedly pass by the JustWorld stand (D40 in the Games Village). GamesVillage Prizes Traditional sweepstakes are offered daily with many JustWorld prizes up for the winning. Tickets are sold for € 2 in favor of their numerous projects across the globe.
